DURATOP range are cultivator parts with tungsten tips. All Bellota parts are manufactured with virgin tungsten tips, which provides greater durability and resistance to the part. In tungsten, besides density, the grain size, porosity and hardness of the tips are important.
Tungsten Carbide, the most wear-resistant material
Tungsten carbide is a highly durable and wear-resistant material, used in multiple sectors, including agriculture. Bellota Agrisolutions has been using tungsten carbide tips on cultivators for over 10 years, with excellent results in the field.
Virgin tungsten tips
Bellota Agrisolutions only uses virgin tungsten tips in its manufacturing, meaning it does not use recycled tungsten. With a good base material, better tungsten carbide density is achieved, which provides greater durability and resistance to the part. In addition to density, grain size, porosity and hardness of the tips are measurements taken into account to guarantee optimum performance.
Tip design
For a cultivator with tungsten tips to perform well, not only is the raw material, brazing process and heat treatment important, but also the tip design. Bellota studies the critical wear zones in each product and designs the tips and their placement to obtain the best performance.
